Sunday 14th March
On a quick visit to my mum in Exeter for Mother’s Day we visit Tobys Reclamation in Exminster. Having never been to a reclamation yard before we really enjoy it. So much inspiration, and not a uPVC window in sight. We look for some rolltop bath feet, but the ones they have are all rusty and have griffins’ feet. I refuse to have griffins’ feet on my bath. Not even Peter Griffin’s feet.
I’m getting a feeling we might go a bit Art Nouveau in places. I quite like the swirly lines and floaty ladies. Mrs Badger seems to agree but says she’ll have to see it first. This usually means “yes maybe meaning no”. I will keep working on her.
Found today while tidying Mum’s loft:
My old Matsui stereo, which lasted me from Christmas 1988 until I had some money in my bank in 1997. Terrible sound, but I certainly got my money’s worth out of it.
The missing half of the Scalextric (photo to follow) - kept
A bag of soft toys and teddies - kept
Amiga ROM Kernel Reference Manual - kept
Novell Netware 3.12 - chucked
A big stack of PC Zone cover CDs - chucked
Red Dwarf books - chucked
Some awful university textbooks - Organisational Behaviour, COBOL, Formal Specification and Z (some kind of set theory). - almost ceremoniously burnt in Mum’s back garden.
Some Poker Dice - kept
